First Anniversary Lecture

On the 24th September, Science Rocks held their First Anniversary Lecture at Sutton High School.  It was a brilliant event.  The lectures were preceeded by a science exhibition, with exhibits from Science Rocks, Sutton High School STEM, Sutton Grammar School Science Buskers, SubSea7, Bugzi, the NPL and SATRO.   The lecture was opened by Mr M Clennett, Deputy Head of Sutton High School, and Mr Paul Burstow, MP, before being handed over to Megan and Elizabeth who compeered the rest of the event.  

The audience was hugely entertained by the brilliant speakers:
Lindsay Muir of SubSea7 – Careers in Engineering
Dr Ed Brightman of the NPL – Hydrogen Fuel Cells
Science Rocks – Refraction
Andrew Hanson of the NPL – The Liquid Nitrogen Show
Other VIP guests included the Mayor of Sutton, Cllr Arthur Hookway, and the Mayoress, and Anne-Marie Imafidon, Head of the STEMettes.
